UNL McNair Scholars Program
The McNair Scholars Program is currently recruiting new scholars to start their program in the Fall 2022 semester with a plan to participate in the McNair Summer Research Experience in 2023. Students will continue to participate in academic year colloquia activities until completing their UNL degree. Click here to view a brochure about the McNair Scholars Program at UNL!
Undergraduate students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply to the UNL McNair Scholars Program:
- Full-time students at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln who plan to pursue graduate education, with the ultimate goal of earning a Ph.D. (unfortunately, students interest in professional programs like health and law are not eligible);
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident;
- Freshman, sophomore, or junior with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above; and
- Either a first-generation college student with a maximum income level established by the U.S. Department of Education OR a member of a group underrepresented in graduate education.
The application is available online: https://www.unl.edu/mcnair/apply. The application deadline is April 1, 2022. Supplemental materials are due April 15 (transcript, two recommendations, personal statement, and financial need form).
