Interested in an Education Abroad Experience?
Students can enhance their academic experience at Nebraska by participating in study, internship, research, or service learning abroad. With many unique programs in over 70 countries, students have the opportunity to find the perfect fit for their individual academic, personal, and professional goals, as well as their budget. Congratulations on taking the first step to participate in an education abroad experience!
Here are a few things to keep in mind as you begin the planning process:
1. Start early! It is recommended to start planning 8 months to a year in advance.
2. Attend a Huskers Abroad 101 session to start learning about the process of going abroad.
3. Do your research. Check out the Search & Apply page to explore your options.
4. Read about ways to Fund Your Experience Abroad.
5. Touch base with your academic advisor, visit the Global Experiences Office's Academics page.
6. Read through the other helpful resources available to you on their website such as: Health & Safety, Travel Logistics, and Identities Abroad.
The Global Experiences Office looks forward to working with you as you plan for what will be one of the most thrilling, educational, and challenging opportunities of your life.
Huskers Abroad 101 is your first stop for Education Abroad Information!
• Huskers Abroad 101 is a 30 minute “getting started” workshop offered three times per week. It’s a great place for students to get all their initial questions answered!
• Students are prompted to think about their goals for studying abroad and will be given some questions to take back to their academic advisors regarding their degree plan and remaining requirements.
• Students should go to Huskers Abroad 101 first and then set up an appointment with Katelyn Kunzman about 8 months to a year prior to their term abroad.
