Weather Camp Student Volunteers

The 11th annual UNL National Weather Camp is scheduled for June 12-16, 2023 (next month).

Its website is https://lincolnweather.unl.edu/weathercamp

Photo galleries for each of the past 10 weather camps are linked at the above website front page.

We traditionally have had EAS students (undergraduate and graduate) participate as assistants in our Weather Camp. I am inviting any UNL EAS students who are interested in outreach meteorology education to join us as a volunteer assistant. Your participation will be guided by our student director, Ethan Greenberg, and myself, as you help the students participate in fun hands-on learning experiences.

The time commitment is up to the individual EAS student volunteers. You can attend all week, just a few days, a few mornings or afternoons, etc. whatever best fits your schedule.

Personally, I think participation in our national weather camp would look good on your resume so I encourage you to give this consideration, and if you are available, please join us!

Take a look through the photo galleries link at the camp website to see the range of activities at weather camp AND then send an email to me and Ethan if you would like to volunteer and when you would be available during the week.

Thanks,
Dr. Ken Dewey: kdewey1@unl.edu
