MTEP is proud to announce the Recruitment Guide 2.0, an update of the guide that was first published in 2015. The new recruitment guide incorporates changes that have occurred over the past decade and is now available to download for free.
The Recruitment Guide 2.0 provides a strategic framework for addressing the nationwide shortage of STEM teachers, particularly in mathematics. It outlines a research-backed approach using the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) Cycle, goal setting, and targeted marketing to attract and retain teacher candidates. Key elements include branding, website development, social media engagement, public relations, and audience-specific outreach. The guide emphasizes the importance of a consistent message, digital presence, and partnerships with schools and media to create a sustainable pipeline of future educators.
