
The MTEP STRETCH (Supporting The Retention of Early Career Teachers of Mathematics) Working Group invites you to its Summer Bridge 2026 Institute for early-career math teachers! Join STRETCH from June 16-17 for two days of engaging workshops and seminars designed to empower you for the upcoming school year.
Registration details
- The institute is free to attend (no cost)!
- Participants will be offered a stipend.
- Registration opens April 6 and closes June 5.
- Priority acceptance will be given to previous MTEP STRETCH participants.
- The institute is open to recent graduates from MTEP institutions.
- Participants can request a 7-hour Professional Learning Certificate upon completion.
Secondary mathematics teachers seeking professional learning in:
- Supporting teaching routines: structuring classroom routines, organization, transitions and group work to promote student engagement and accountability
- Supporting yourself: building professional networks, setting boundaries, managing workload and maintaining work-life balance
- Supporting diverse learners: using inquiry-based teaching, discussion structures, questioning strategies, math language routines and the 5 Practices to promote equitable participation
- Choose your own adventure: topics based on participant interest (e.g., AI in education, research-based teaching strategies, formative assessment)
Dates: June 16–17 (Tuesday/Wednesday)
Times (both days): TBD based on participant time zones
- The institute will be 3.5 hours between the hours of 7:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Times will be confirmed on May 27.
