After MTEP 2.0 funding winds down in Fall 2026, the Mathematics Teacher Education Partnership network will live on in the form of an Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators Community Circle. The circle will launch in September 2026—stay tuned for details! Advertisement of future meetings will occur through MTEP 2.0 and AMTE.
Community Circle description
MTEP is a networked improvement community of secondary mathematics teacher preparation programs across the country. We are working collaboratively to redesign secondary mathematics teacher preparation programs based on AMTE's (2017) Standards for Preparing Teachers of Mathematics. Possible discussion topics for future meetings include recruitment and retention of teacher candidates, developing partnerships with K-12 stakeholders and novel approaches in secondary teacher preparation.
Stephanie Casey (scasey1@emich.edu) is the lead contact. Cyndi Edgington (cpedging@ncsu.edu) and Alyson Lischka (alyson.lischka@mtsu.edu) are co-leaders.
