On October 23, 2025, the UNL Office of Research and Innovation hosted a Research & Innovation Showcase at the Nebraska Union and across campus. One of the stops was at the engineering research facilities at 1700 Vine Street inside Kiewit Hall. Hosting this stop on the research showcase was Dr. Mark Riley, associate director of the Nebraska Center for Energy Sciences Research and associate dean for research at the UNL College of Engineering. Dr. Riley toured multiple groups of interested participants and shared his insights on opportunities for research for students at the new facilities at Kiewit Hall. The daylong event concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Jennifer Nelson, interim vice chancellor for the Office of Research and Innovation.
