Scholarships available for SPACE Conference for Educators

For the second year in a row, the NASA Nebraska Space Grant will sponsor partial educator scholarships to attend the SPACE Conference for Educators at Kennedy Space Center in Florida from July 24-26, 2019. See http://kennedyconference.org for conference details.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and must be employed in a formal or informal educator role in Nebraska. Formal and informal educators include K-16 educators and educators employed at museums, libraries, etc. in Nebraska.

Selected recipients will receive a $400 stipend to be paid after successful attendance at the conference, and the NASA Nebraska Space Grant will pay the $295 conference registration fee directly to the conference organizer. Attendees are responsible for all additional costs of attending the conference.

Applications will be accepted through February 17 and recipients will be notified by February 21. There are a limited number of scholarships so be sure to complete the application form as completely as possible. The application form may be found at:

Note: Stipends may be taxable if the recipient receives more than $600 in stipends from the State of Nebraska this year. Employees of the University of Nebraska campuses may not be eligible for stipends; please contact nasa.nebraska@unomaha.edu to see if travel reimbursement up to $400 may be available instead.
