The STEM Enhancement in Earth Science Summer Internship program for high school students will be at the University of Texas at Austin from July 13-27, 2019.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Travel Scholarships Available

ELIGIBILITY:
Open to current high school Sophomores or Juniors ONLY (will be rising Juniors and Seniors) who have not worked as a UT/CSR intern previously.
Must be 16 by July 13, 2019.
Have a strong interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Ability to complete online requirements prior to the on-site intern program.
Must be US citizen.

SPACE RESEARCH
Science on the International Space Station
Identifying Near Earth Asteroid Hazards

DISASTER RESEARCH WITH MAGIC (MID-AMERICAN GEOSPATIAL INFORMATION CENTER)
Disaster Map: Using Satellites for Emergency Preparedness
Flood Response

CLIMATE RESEARCH WITH CSR (CENTER FOR SPACE RESEARCH)
Weighing Where the Water Goes
Measuring Ice Sheet Changes

MISSION DESIGN
Observing Earth From Space
Explore the Moon
Mars Exploration

Students:
AS AN INTERN YOU WILL:
Work with NASA Subject Matter Experts
Conduct authentic research
Analyze data from NASA satellites
Tour NASA Johnson Space Center

REQUIREMENTS:
Sophomore or Junior in High School
Letter of Recommendation
Answer essay questions
Provide an introductory video

IF SELECTED, YOU WILL:
Conduct 60 hours of remote work
Spend 2 weeks on The University of Texas at Austin campus
