It’s normal to have a bit of anxiety about getting medical care on your own, but you can rest easy knowing that high quality health care is available on campus. Here’s what you need to know about accessing care at the University Health Center this semester:
When is the health center open?
The health center building is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hours vary by service.
Where is the health center and how can I get there?
The University Health Center is located at 550 N 19th Street. We’re on City Campus along Antelope Valley Parkway, across from the Suites and Willa Cather Dining Complex.
There are many ways to get to the health center:
- Walk - The health center is within walking distance of most locations on campus
- Bike - A bike rack is located by the west entrance. A BikeLNK dock is also located on N 19th St across from our west entrance
- Bus - The UNL / StarTran bus route #25 has a stop immediately south of the building
- Drive – Free parking is available in our patient parking lot. Please use the stalls directly against the building that are marked with a "Patient Parking Only" sign
How do I make an appointment?
Appointments are required for care. Call 402.472.5000 to schedule. Once you are an established patient, you can schedule certain follow-up appointments with your provider on the One Chart | Patient Portal.
Do I need to wear a mask?
You will need to wear a mask when you arrive for check-in. If you forget to bring a mask, one can be provided to you at the check-in desk.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Make sure to bring a government ID (like your driver’s license or passport) and your insurance card. If you are using your parents’ insurance, make sure you have a front and back copy of their card if you don’t have a physically one for yourself.
The University Health Center provides several different services to help you stay healthy including physicals and wellness exams, nutrition counseling, pharmacy, dental care and much more. If you are taking at least one on-campus credit hour, you have access to certain health center services for no cost. Learn more on our website.
