First identified in the city of Wuhan, Hubei Province, China in December, the 2019 Novel Coronavirus is causing an outbreak of pneumonia illness.
To help ensure the protection and safety of the campus community, the UHC screens for the virus as part of standard patient assessment practices. While the virus remains a public health concern, infectious disease specialists say common flu is a greater worry at this time.
