Students Need Help Learning to Cook?

Did your college student make it to campus and realize “I don’t know how to cook for myself?” While the UNL Dining Halls are an excellent option for fueling up, sometimes students get hungry late at night or maybe move off campus. Luckily, there’s many other resources that the University offers to help students learn to provide for themselves, and UNL Student Health 101 is one of those resources! Each month, this online health and wellness magazine features a new UCookbook video series with ideas for how to make healthy snacks and meals quickly and easily with limited resources (like in a dorm room or apartment). The videos show step by step how to prepare recipes and provide alternatives if a viewer lacks certain ingredients or kitchen equipment. The best part is that it’s always free to access UNL Student Health 101, and it’s available 24/7!

If this sounds like it could be helpful to your student, or if you’d like to learn more about what UNL Student Health 101 provides, try visiting our parent’s issue. Here you will find abbreviated articles on many topics that are important to students, and if you want to learn more or forward something on to your child, each page is linked back to our complete issue that students see.
