Parents searching for an affordable yet effective health insurance option for their student can rest assured knowing the University of Nebraska offers the StudentBlue health insurance plan.

StudentBlue was created in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. It’s a comprehensive plan that meets all healthcare reform and Nebraska requirements. Most importantly, students with the plan are covered anywhere in the U.S. that accepts Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

StudentBlue covers many University Health Center services at 100 percent, such as counseling services, laboratory tests, medical procedures, physical therapy and X-rays. The plan’s additional features include:
• $500 deductible per year (in network)
• $10 co-pay for generic prescription drugs (in network)
• $1,000 dental coverage included
• Plan pays 80 percent for medical services in network.

Enrollment for the Spring/Summer 2017 coverage period is now open and will close Feb. 6 at midnight. To enroll, students should log into MyRed and select the “insurance” link on their PROFILE screen.
