Major Exploration Week- perfect for undeclared students or those looking for a second major!

Major Exploration Week: March 6-8, 2018
Major Exploration Week: March 6-8, 2018

Picking a major and finding a career path can be hard. It can be especially hard when you’re a student trying to balance other classes at the same time. Luckily, Nebraska's Explore Center has Major Exploration Week, which aims to help students find the major that aligns best with their values, interests and aspirations.

The first event is “Values, Majors and Careers” on March 6. Students will take a values assessment that will help identify what is most important to them in a career. After this, they can better understand what career or major area to explore.

The second event is “How to Choose a Major” on March 7, where students will be given a list of the more than 150 majors offered at Nebraska. They then they can eliminate the ones they aren’t interested in, and identify the ones they might want to learn more about. Students will also be given information on available resources and important details about their potential new major.

Finally, “Getting to Know Your Interests, Skills and Values” wraps up Major Exploration Week on March 8. Students will be able to take the Focus 2 Career Assessment, offered by the Explore Center. This assessment connects their interests, skills and values to Nebraska majors and career options that are custom-picked for your student.

Is your student in search of a new major? Encourage them to attend Major Exploration Week so they can find their match!
