Homecoming at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a long-standing tradition and has been celebrated by present students and past students for many years. Overtime, Homecoming has become a way for students, parents and alumni on campus to work together to show their love and appreciation for the university and show off their Husker pride. Homecoming is spread out over a week and is full of exciting events including student competitions, a campus-wide blood drive, a concert, a parade and the Cornstock Festival including the pep rally and jester competition. The week leads up to the Homecoming football game. Students from many organizations on campus work throughout the week to gain points. They compete in a talent competition, create banners, construct yard displays and even develop floats that wonder the streets of campus during the parade.
