American Association of Geographers: Careers in Geography

The American Association of Geographers has recently updated and redesigned its Careers in Geography website (http://www.aag.org/careers), adding a range of new content to help students and job seekers better understand career paths in geography. The updated site emphasizes applied career opportunities for geographers in business, government, and nonprofit organizations and features profiles and video interviews with dozens of professional geographers, along with lists of hundreds of employers that have hired geography graduates curated from a comprehensive review of over 60 geography department alumni websites.

The AAG will also be piloting two new webinar series this fall as a service to AAG members and the wider geography community. One series focuses on topics for geographers just getting started in their careers, while the second concentrates on leadership issues, especially those involving building and growing strong academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The first webinar, Making the Case for Geography, is scheduled for Friday, September 25 at 3pm EDT. Registration is free and now open at: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_N1QlwQ2eRImilIUdgnv8AA

Times and URLs for the other webinars will be distributed as soon as they are available. For more information on the webinar series, visit: http://www.aag.org/careerwebinars
