World Learning seeks a virtual intern to support the implementation of the International Visitor Leadership Program, a program funded by the U.S. Department of State. This position provides an opportunity to engage with U.S. and international leaders in a range of fields, learn about key U.S. foreign policy issues, and help forge international partnerships. The position is part of World Learning’s Global Exchange Unit, which implements a diverse professional exchange portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, work both independently and collaboratively, and communicate clearly and effectively with diverse partners and stakeholders. An interest in working with people from other cultures and backgrounds and a positive, proactive attitude are essential. This position will primarily support the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the flagship professional exchange program of the U.S. Department of State. The virtual intern will work with various IVLP teams to help make programmatic and logistical arrangements for foreign professionals, and to support team-wide projects and tasks.

The summer term virtual internship will run from late May through mid-August. To apply please submit a cover letter and a resume. The virtual intern is expected to work 15 hours/week. The compensation for this position is $15.00/hr. Only candidates receiving interviews will be contacted.

Responsibilities:

The virtual intern is responsible for the following:

• contributing to the successful implementation of virtual and hybrid exchange programs in support of U.S. foreign policy goals;

• supporting exchange program logistics;

• conducting research to support the preparation of programs;

• supporting the preparation of briefing books and program materials for participants, including agendas, LMS platforms, and synchronous and asynchronous content;

• drafting and editing documents;

• providing technological support as needed for program participants and various stakeholders;

• updating databases;

• virtually accompanying participants, as required, to appointments; and

• actively participating in activities to support team, organizational, and network-wide goals.

As members of World Learning’s staff, interns will also have access to various professional development opportunities, including skill-building workshops, shadowing sessions with internal and external entities, and brownbag lunches on various topics relevant to international education and exchange.
