Nebraska Appleseed
Nebraska Appleseed is dedicated to improving the lives of all Nebraskans through public policy, community support and education, and grassroots organizing efforts. We do this with the help of our dedicated interns. Nebraska Appleseed interns have the chance to work on public interest issues in the areas of research, advocacy, community outreach, and other critical organizational projects. Interns may work to:
• Advocate for compassionate policy and laws for our immigrant communities, families, and friends.
• Promote access to essential needs such as housing and food nutrition services and programs.
• Uplift and educate on the importance of democracy, civic engagement, and voting.
• Provide education and outreach on public assistance programs to eligible Nebraskans.
• Learn about specifics of nonprofit management such as fundraising, expenditure management, and more.

Remote Paid Summer Internships with Phi Beta Kappa
Phi Beta Kappa is looking for an Events and Advocacy Intern and a Communications and Programs Intern. In addition to day-to-day assignments, the intern completes a capstone project with guidance from national office staff. The project includes a written report and presentation to senior staff and is designed to encourage critical thinking, long term strategy, best writing and presentation practices, and creativity. The work can be done remotely, but some preference for candidates in the DC area. The position will be paid a stipend of $5,500 total for 12 weeks of work. Do not have to be a Phi Beta Kappa member. Paid Internships, National Consortium for the Study of and Responses to Terrorism
START offers paid internships year round on a variety of research projects and teams. During the course of their internship, participants are exposed to the most up-to-date theories, methods and information related to the study of terrorism. START’s internship program is open to students (as well as some recent graduates) in any related discipline from any institution. Participants work at least 10 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters and 20 hours/week during the summer. Students receive a $3,000 stipend during the summer semesters and a $2,250 stipend during the spring and fall semesters. All interns are required to work onsite with their research project staff. Because interns work directly with our researchers and staff on current research projects, the internship positions vary depending on our research portfolio. Remote Paid Summer Internship with the Center for Economic and Policy Research
The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) is currently looking for an International Program Intern for Summer 2022. This is a full-time, remote position. Applicants with a general understanding of economics, international relations, and democracy issues, and an interest in economic justice desired. Previous research, data, and/or outreach experience is extremely helpful. Proficiency in Spanish preferred. Internships paid $2,694.40 per month and interns are eligible for reimbursement of health insurance plan costs up to $295.69 per month. National Willa Cather Center
The Humanities Internship at the NWCC offers an experiential learning opportunity for an advanced undergraduate (completed at least forty credit hours) or a graduate student in the humanities at the University of Nebraska (UNL, UNK, or UNO). The Humanities Intern will participate in the efforts of the NWCC in a variety of ways, such as archival processing and digitization; support and execution of educational programming; measuring impact through surveys and evaluation; research assistance; event and tour support; and more. The goal is to create an experience for the Humanities Intern that both addresses the needs of the NWCC and is relevant to the professional goals of the intern. Students who complete the internship will learn a variety of skills useful in many professional contexts, such as written and oral communication; workflow development; customer needs analysis; project management and assessment; collaborative teamwork; and event planning. The Humanities Intern at the NWCC is expected to be in residence in Red Cloud, Nebraska, in order to work approximately 300 hours between May and August (specific schedule is flexible).
