In the midst of a busy semester, it's more important than ever to take a moment to connect with our colleagues and community. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Staff Senate is excited to announce the upcoming Staff Senate District Meetings on Monday, September 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
These meetings are more than just a gathering; they're an opportunity to build a stronger, more supportive campus for everyone. We know there's a lot going on right now, and we believe that by coming together, we can leverage our collective voices and support one another through any challenge.
The concept of district meetings began two years ago as a part of the All-Staff Conference and has proven to be a successful contribution to fostering a greater sense of community and belonging among staff. This is your chance to continue that success.
We acknowledge that the biggest challenge at this moment is the university’s pending budget reductions. While the budget reductions can be discussed at these meetings, the focus of the Staff Senate District Meetings is all topics that impact staff.
What to Expect
The purpose of these meetings is threefold:
Networking: This is a chance to meet and connect with fellow staff members in your district, fostering a sense of community and collaboration across departments.
Address Issues: Have a concern or an idea that impacts staff? This is your platform to bring up issues, ask questions, and share feedback in a supportive environment.
Connect with Senators: Your Staff Senators are here to represent you. These meetings provide a direct link to your representatives, allowing you to share your thoughts and learn about the work being done on your behalf.
The meetings will take place at the following locations. We encourage you to attend the meeting for your designated district to ensure your voice is heard.
District 1 Business and Finance: Nebraska Union Regency B/C
District 2 Chancellor: Nebraska Union Regency A
District 3 Academic Colleges: JGMC Unity Room/212
District 4 Student Life: JGMC Ubuntu Room/202
District 5: Additional EVC Offices: Nebraska Union Chimney Rock
District 6 IANR: Nebraska East Union Arbor A
District 7 Research: Nebraska Union Heritage Room
District 8 University of Nebraska System: Nebraska East Campus Prairie B/C
Your perspective matters, and your participation is crucial to the success of the Staff Senate's work. Let's come together on September 29 to build a more collaborative and empathetic campus community. We look forward to seeing you there!
