The Office of Undergraduate Education Programs is seeking faculty to participate in the 2019-2020 ACE Leadership Fellows program.
In the program, teams of 4-5 faculty members work together in outcome-specific groups to examine the relationship between assessment and the improvement of teaching and learning within each ACE outcome. Fellows selected for the 2019-20 academic year will focus on the areas of the arts (ACE 7), ethics (ACE 8) or global awareness and human diversity (ACE 9).
This is the 10th year of the program. Beginning in Oct., program fellows will meet over a six-month period to:
- explore methods for evaluating success in general education programs and tools to facilitate continuous improvement of teaching and learning
- discuss the overarching goal of the ACE program and the value and goal of each group’s specific learning outcome
- review samples of the current year’s assessment reports within the group’s outcome to develop a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the current ACE program
- summarize what has been learned in order to share best practices with fellow ACE instructors across the university
The fellows will meet regularly at times arranged by the participating members of each group. Participants who complete all the requirements of this six-month program will receive a $1,000 stipend, as well as the optional opportunity to participate in an external faculty development program sponsored by the Association of American Colleges and Universities.
Interested faculty can contact Patty Sollars, director of Undergraduate Education Programs, at patricia.sollars@unl.edu.
To apply, please send a brief statement of interest indicating experience teaching in the ACE program by Sept. 20.
