In the fourth round of funding opportunities to support innovation in teaching, the Center for Transformative Teaching has included departments and undergraduate students.

Two departmental grants may be funded to a maximum of $60,000 and must be completed within three years. These projects should focus broadly on student success rates and overall performance, DFW rates, equity gaps in courses, and students’ sense of belonging.

In line with UNL's emphasis on experiential learning, undergraduate students may apply for up to $1,000 to support hands-on learning experiences.

Additional funding opportunities, which have been offered in prior years, are each capped at a maximum award of $1,000.

  • Pedagogic intervention grants support faculty exploration of learning experiences promoting more experiential, interdisciplinary, or active approaches. Courses may be taught face-to-face, hybrid, blended, or fully online.

  • Incubation fund grants support any teaching activity designed with a view toward creating Scholarship of Teaching and Learning publications, conference presentations, or an external pedagogy-related grant application.

  • Student-faculty collaboration grants support the creation of inclusive, innovative, and/or interdisciplinary pedagogy and course design. Grants must collaboratively engage students and faculty and should clearly outline how students will be involved in the co-creation of the grant’s execution.

All grant proposals should be submitted via NuRamp by Feb 1. Visit the CTT website for additional details about each opportunity and to download application forms.
