“Creating an Inclusive Classroom” Teaching and Learning Symposium

Mark your calendars for the Second Annual Spring Teaching & Learning Symposium. The campus-wide symposium will be held on Friday, April 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Nebraska Innovation Campus.

Creating an Inclusive Classroom will focus on practical strategies for facilitating challenging conversations, designing diverse course content, and promoting awareness of and reflection about diversity. The all-participant workshop and student panel will be facilitated by Shari Saunders, Associate Clinical Professor in Educational Studies, University of Michigan, and co-author of "Creating Inclusive College Classrooms."

Attendees will be able to choose from concurrent sessions on related key topics:
• Teamwork: Optimizing student teams
• Classroom Space: Teaching strategies for flexible and inflexible spaces
• Future Learning Technologies: Canvas pilot
• Motivation and Engagement: Teaching to particular types of students
