Met Opera broadcast of 'La Traviata' is April 14, 15

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center will host a live broadcast of Verdi's "La Traviata" at noon, April 14. An encore performance is at 1 p.m., April 15. The performance is part of "The Met: Live in HD" series of live broadcasts from New York City's Metropolitan Opera House.

Natalie Dessay will put on the red dress in Willy Decker's stunning production, in her first Violetta at the Met. Matthew Polenzani sings Alfredo, Dmitri Hvorostovsky is Germont, and Principal Guest Conductor Fabio Luisi is on the podium.

The opera's expected running time is three hours and 5 minutes.

Tickets are $23 general admission, $21 senior citizens, $16 for Ross members, students and children, and $5 for UNL students (with valid NCard).
