New head men's basketball coach Tim Miles and the Husker men’s basketball program are offering a variety of summer camps and clinics for children. The camps, June 4-13, are designed to increase skill levels while participants compete in contest and games against youths of similar age and ability level. Costs range from $50 to $295.

Camps offered include:

Little Dribblers Camp (boys and girls, ages 5 to 8) — Emphasis on the fundmentals of the game and geared to younger children. June 4-7, 9 a.m. to noon, $110 per participant ($125 for extended day, 7:30 to 9 a.m.).

Half-Day Camp (boys and girls, ages 8 to 18) — Emphasis on developing the basic fundamentals of basketball — shooting, dribbling, passing and defense. The camp includes instruction, drills, contests and daily 5-on-5 team games. Players are grouped according to age, height and ability level. June 4-7, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., lunch provided, $210 per participant ($225 for extended day, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.).

Overnight Camp (grades 3 to 12) — Instruction by Coach Miles and his coaching staff to improve each camper's basketball techniques. All basic basketball principles will be emphasized to improve each camper. Camp will also include daily 5-on-5 team games. Campers can choose to stay in the residence halls or be a commuter. June 10-13, all day, $295 per participant staying overnight in residence halls, or $225 for commuter campers.

Ball handling and Shooting Clinic (boys and girls, grades K-12) — Instruction focused on the offensive fundamentals of the game. Shooting, dribbling and passing techniques will be taught to each camper. June 8, 9 a.m. to noon, $50 per participant.

Post Player Specialty Clinic (boys and girls, grades K-12) — Emphasis on improving post play, including offensive techniques. June 8, 1 to 4 p.m., $50 per participant.

Team Camp — Each team guaranteed six games. Each team must have an accompanying coach and a minimum of eight players. Coaches must call Kim Whitemore at 402-472-2265 to reserve a spot for a team. Residence halls are available. June 23-24, $75 for commuter campers, $95 for campers staying in residence halls. Commuter costs include two meals and a T-shirt. Overnight costs include three meals and a T-shirt.
