Forsythe named Visiting Scholar by Phi Beta Kappa

David Forsythe, professor emeritus of political science, has been selected by the Phi Beta Kappa national office as a national Visiting Scholar for 2013-2014.

About a dozen PBK Visiting Scholars are selected each year from major universities to visit other campuses around the country to enrich campus life through public lectures, class participation and other events. These Visiting Scholars come from a variety of liberal arts and sciences disciplines.

Past PBK Visiting Scholars include U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Thomas Schelling, a noted expert on arms races and arms control.

Forsythe, who also is a Charles J. Mach Professor emeritus, is known for his studies on human rights and international law and organization. The details of his schedule have yet to be established.
