A retirement reception for Arnold Bateman, director of Online Worldwide, is 3:30 to 5 p.m., Jan. 20 at the Van Brunt Visitors Center. The reception is free and open to the public.
Bateman has worked at the University of Nebraska since 1981. He is an emeritus professor, working since 2009 as director of Online Worldwide, NU's online degree program. He has held a variety of leadership positions in Extended Education and Outreach, including 10 years as coordinator of the Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff. Before coming to the NU system, Bateman was a faculty member in agricultural economics at South Dakota State University.
