The University Libraries are requiring the use of a personal identification number to access online systems starting May 13. The use of PINs is to protect library cards from unauthorized use.

Starting May 13, users will we asked to establish a PIN when they log into a library account or the UNL libraries database. The number must be entered twice for verification.

The PIN will be used to check out items at the libraries' self-checkout machines. It will also be used to log in to My Library, any database licensed for UNL, and library computers.

For more information about the University Libraries new PIN protocol, go to http://library.unl.edu/screens/pinhelp.html.
