Introduction to principles of seismic, ground-penetrating radar, and potential fields geophysical methods and their application to groundwater, engineering, environmental, and archaeological investigations. The course will include data acquisition, processing and interpretation.

This course will outline the basics of seismic, ground-penetrating radar and potential fields for near-surface applications. These methodologies have a wide range of applications spanning from environmental and hydrogeological to engineering and archeological studies. The class will take advantage of the geophysical instrumentation from the UNL Geophysics lab, so students will receive hands-on field experience and practice in data processing and basic interpretation.
