The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering (CEAE) at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Geotechnical Engineering and Geomechanics (GEGM). This position is anticipated to be hired at the Assistant Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate Professor or Professor rank.

Candidates with an interest in addressing current research challenges in geotechnical engineering and geomechanics through comprehensive approaches—such as experimental (laboratory and field), theoretical, computational, and/or data-driven methods—are invited to apply. All research areas and methodologies within geotechnical engineering and geomechanics are considered. These may include but are not limited to resilient geotechnical infrastructure, geological engineering and rock mechanics, and geotechnics and geomechanics for sustainable energy production.

Applicants must have earned a research doctorate in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Geomechanics, or a related field, or have their degree conferred before starting a tenure-track faculty appointment.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. However, for full consideration, please apply by November 16, 2025.
