Time: 9:30 AM - 10:20 AM
Date: Thursday, April 16
Location: Kiewit Hall, Room A249
Format: In person only
Duration: One 50-minute class period
All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend a special in-person panel session hosted in CIVE 102.
This session features short presentations from faculty across civil and environmental engineering, highlighting how Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are applied in both research and professional practice. The panel includes in-person representation from all major sub-disciplines within CEE, providing a broad perspective on the role of GIS across the field. Participating faculty include Drs. Admiraal, Aich, Teixeira, Roy, and Zhao.
Each speaker will present for approximately 5–7 minutes, followed by a panel-based question and answer discussion within a single 50-minute class period. Presentations will emphasize visual, applied examples from areas such as hydraulics, hydrology, transportation, pavement and roadway conditions, and environmental monitoring.
Attendees are welcome to submit questions in advance, or during the presentations, using the following form:

Questions may relate to GIS broadly or to specific sub-disciplines within civil and environmental engineering. Submissions received prior to the panel discussion will be incorporated as time allows.
