The PGA Golf Management Student Club/Program is off and running strong! The student club is currently preparing for our busiest two months out of the year.

We are currently planning our UNL PGA Golf Management Spring Scramble to be held on Saturday April 14th. This is a 4-person scramble event that benefits our student club's scholarship funds. Last year, with the help our many event sponsors and teams that signed up, we were able to award 6 - $500 scholarships! Wow...that's $3000 dollars going to worthy students to offset the cost of their education. This year we are hoping to double that amount! With many new ideas in regards to tee marks, customized hole flags, and new hole sponsor signs (and much more) we are anticipating this event to only become better than scrambles in the past!

In addition to our main flagship event being the Spring Scramble, we are currently planning and preparing a group of volunteers for "The Big Event" to be held on Saturday, April 7th. In past years, we have volunteered at the Matt Talbot Kitchen and at various neighborhoods around the Lincoln area helping with yard care, house work, and prepping homes for the summer months.

Our end-of-year Nebraska Special Olympics Golf Event is currently in the planing stages as well as a Folds of Honor Golf Marathon! Other key social events include our clubs gatherings at Lincoln Stars Hockey Games, Bowling Nights at Sun Valley Lanes, UNL Intramurals (currently all four of our full roster teams have winning records going into the playoffs), CASNR welcoming events, CASNR Coffee Club, and several other smaller events.

At our last Student Club meeting, we held our 2018-2019 UNL PGA Golf Management Officer Elections. After listening to several great nomination speeches, the club voted on appointing Nate Vaughn to President, Brendan Bond to Vice President, and Kyle Murray to Secretary. This outstanding and great group will take over at the completion of this school year. I have no doubt that these great gentlemen will continue to lead our program and club in a positive direction.

Lastly, I can't thank our advisors, our students, our club, and everyone who has been involved with the PGA golf management program for their support and guidance. The trust they gave me this past year in leading our program was greatly appreciated. I am excited to see what our club and program has in store for the future.

And finally...GO BIG RED!
