The Spring Scramble was a success again this year despite having to reschedule the event just a few days before the event was to take place. This April was one of the coldest ever recorded and with a horrible forecast the committee decided to reschedule the event from April 14 to April 28. The decision ended up being a smart move as there were blizzard conditions throughout the state on the 14th.
April 28 was a warm sunny day and despite losing several teams (due to the new date) there was a good turnout with over 18 teams participating. The event was a four person scramble at Wilderness Ridge and the students handled every aspect of the tournament including planning, securing sponsors, running the tournament, scoring and awards.
The event started with an 18-hole shotgun start with lunch immediately following play. During lunch there were a dozen or so silent auction items to bid on. The event concluded with the committed handing out awards to the top three places in two flights and a presentation of the scholarships.
CASNR was title sponsor of the tournament for 2018 and the students raised enough money to provide eight, $500 scholarships.
The recipients were Joe Sherman, Kyle Murray, Adam Speck, Josh Baldus, Nakul Paliwal, Brendan Bond, Alex Sheehy and Joel Johnson. Congratulations Men!
