The 2018 annual CONE Cup competition was held at the Belmar Golf Club in Moore, OK (Saturday, Oct 6) and at Kickingbird in Edmund, OK (Sunday, Oct 7) and saw a solid team from the University of Central Oklahoma dominate the second day of competition to reclaim the CONE Cup.
Results of the Day 1 Fourball Matches at Belmar Golf Club were:

* Garrett Marler & Farmer Schaeffer (UNO) over Alex Sheehy & Sam Rice (UNL) 4 & 3
* Blake Schroeder & Nate Vaughn (UNL) over Sydney Roberts & Ross Smith (UCO) 1 up
* Austin Krewson & Clete Carlson (UCO) over Brenden Miller & Josh Baldus (UNL) 2 & 1
* Blake Ivy & Peyton Knell (UCO) even with Kyle Murray & Cordell Weber (UNL) Halved
* Jackson Rowbottom & Nico Edel (UCO) over Joe Furasek & Nakul Paliwal (UNL) 3 & 1
* Tyler Lawson & Derek Carlson (UNL) over Trent Young & Brody Mayberry (UCO) 5 & 4
At the end of Day 1 at the Belmar Golf Club, the point total was even at 3.5 for UCO and 3.5 for UNL.
The Day 2 single matches were held at UCO's home course, Kickingbird, on Sunday morning and found the team playing in heavy rains most of the morning. The results of the Day 2 Single Matches were as follows:

* Jackson Rowbottom (UCO) over Nakul Paliwal (UNL) 1 up
* Nico Edel (UCO) over Derek Carlson (UNL) 3 & 2
* Blake Ivy (UCO) over Joe Furasek (UNL) 3 & 2
* Peyton Knell (UCO) over Josh Baldus (UNL) 4 & 2
* Austin Krewson (UCO) over Bill Rhiley (UNL) 4 & 3
* Clete Carlson (UCO) even with Alex Sheehy (UNL) Halved

At the end of the 14 single matches, UCO scored 9.5 points to UNL's 4.5 points.
The overall match found UCO reclaiming the CONE Cup with a total of 13 points for UCO and 8 points for UNL. Congratulations to the team from UCO on taking back the CONE Cup for 2018.
A special "thank you" to Team Captain Cordell Weber for working with this year's team. UNL hopes to claim back the CONE Cup when UCO travels back to Lincoln in the late fall of 2019.
