For the (hopefully) unique graduating class of 2020, marking the occasion was a distinctly global affair. Students and families participated in UNL's exclusively-online graduation celebration May 9 from 77 countries, according to geo-location data in the university's Google Analytics account.

"We all gathered around the virtual graduation and made our daughter "walk the carpet", receive her diploma (well, her Dad's) and move her tassel all with screams and confetti," said Pam Kasl of the virtual experience.

Participants from the U.S. led the list of nations, of course, but the Husker global top ten was rounded out by Rwanda, Oman, Columbia, Malaysia, China, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.

GA also tracks location to cities. Chicago slotted in at No. 3 after Lincoln and Omaha, and Rwanda's capital city, Kigali, represented the African continent at No. 5, after Kearney.
