The 2017-18 Officer Team of myself (Nick St. Onge), Vice President Cordell Weber, and Secretary Gretchen Keller emphasized involvement of all club members for this year. There was a huge push to get new students involved as quickly as possible on various committees of the club.

* Planning for our big events like Spring Scramble and Stroke Play had already begun
* The Big Event and Special Olympics will be held in April of 2018
* Kyle Murray won our Match Play Tournament (4th Freshman to win it his freshman year and 3rd freshman in a row)
* The club is running a Food Bank Food Drive through the holidays with donations being sent to a local food bank
* Team World retained the Riordan Cup

My advice to all students in the PGA Golf Management Program at UNL includes having a great attitude and remain energized! If there was thing that was stressed at the 101st Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas more than anything, it was to stay energized throughout your career, and go 100% at everything you do with a great attitude.

This starts with really going after that internship you want. Don't just settle for something that seems easy. Push yourself to do something that might be uncomfortable. Build connections, build up a vast network, and have fun doing it! This will help you to keep "climbing the ladder" as you progress and advance in our industry.

David Novak (CEO of YUM! Food) said that we have to remember that we love our jobs. We love not having to sit in an office everyday. We get to golf for a living. We have to remember what we are grateful for.

If we can all remain positive and have a great attitude while staying energized to wake up at those early time during the summer, we are all bound for success.

No time like the present!
