Lied Expansion Groundbreaking Friday
The Lied Center for Performing Arts will celebrate the start of its expansion project at a groundbreaking, 4:30 p.m., April 29. The planned 8,100-square-foot Lied Commons addition is entirely privately funded and made possible with a $2.5 million gift to the University of Nebraska Foundation from Christina M. Cho wins $400,000 award to build safer job sites using 3D technology
Yong Cho
Yong Cho recently received a $400,000, five-year Faculty Early Career Development Program CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation for outstanding pre-tenure faculty.
Cho, an assistant professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction, is developing a method to build real-time virtual 3D models of work sites. Samantha Rendon wins Rosenshine internship with BBDO
Samantha Rendon
Samantha Rendon, a senior advertising and public relations major in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications, has been awarded the Allen Rosenshine Minority Educational and Training Fund internship.
BBDO, a leading advertising agency with U.S. offices in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis and San Francisco, will fund six internships for the summer of 2011. Rendon will receive a $4,000 stipend for a 10-week internship in account services in New York City. more...

Clay Club Sale
The annual UNL Clay Club sale and raffle is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 29 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 30 in Richards Hall. Items for sale include pots, vessels and sculpture made by ceramic students.
Profits from the sale help fund the UNL Clay Club visiting artist program, field trips and conference attendance.

Bathtub Dogs Take the Stage Friday Night
The Bathtub Dogs, an all-male a cappella group of UNL students, will hold their annual spring show at 8 p.m., April 29 at the Rococo Theater, 128 N. 13th St.
Tickets are $5 for students and $8 general admission. Tickets are available at the door or the Student Organization Financial Services office, 222 Nebraska Union.
The Bathtub Dogs were founded in 2002. The group has recorded three albums, the most recent, "Studio 354," was released in 2008. From Today@UNL
'Mobile Computing Sprint' Concludes Today 107 ARCHITECTURE HALL, MONDAY-FRIDAY, NOON
Information Services invites you to the 'Educause Mobile Computing 5-Day Sprint,' a free, weeklong experience allows you to participate in activities and discussions on the many ways mobile technologies are altering higher education. Interested UNL students, faculty and staff are invited to 107 Architecture Hall over the noon hour this week to participate in this national forum, provided by Educause, the nonprofit association for higher education technology.
