Upcoming Student Events from Career Services

Big Dream Gathering
Big Dream Gathering

It’s one of the busiest times of the year for students- job and internship applications are open, class schedules need to be decided, and career paths still have to be explored! Luckily, Career Services has compiled a handful of events in the coming month that can help students with these tasks.

For students still searching for their path, or looking for a chance to make new connections, the BIG Dream Gathering is perfect. This event, led by author Mitch Matthews, encourages students to write down their dreams and ideas, and then work together to figure out how to make them happen. They can network, collaborate and find new friends that will push them towards their goals. The first 100 people in attendance will even receive a free copy of the Matthew’s book, “IGNITE.”

If you know a student that dreams of working for the government, make sure to direct them to the Federal Government Job Search Workshop presented by Career Services. This March 8th event aims to link aspiring federal workers to resources they can use in their job search and applications. The workshop will include a panel with federal employers, as well as information on how to craft a federal resume.

On March 14, students that are interested in working in the nonprofit world can attend the SERV (Serve, Educate, Respond, Volunteer) Career Fair. There they can find career, internship and volunteer opportunities at nonprofits and in education. More than 50 organizations will be at this event, so encourage your students to visit Career Services beforehand to be fully prepared.

More information on these events, including times, locations and employers that will be present, can be found on the Career Services website.
