Graduate Student Worker Job Description:
The Campus Visit Guide will work under the supervision of the Events & Outreach Coordinator and Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment, within the Office of Graduate Studies. Duties include delivering informed 30-60-minute walking tours of campus to prospective graduate students, representing Graduate Studies at college and community fairs, collaborative small- and large-group presentations, preparation of campus visit materials, and helping with large-scale visit events. Guide should be comfortable with sharing knowledge about the application process, student life, UNL campuses, and city of Lincoln, as well as answering various student questions.
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a graduate program at UNL
- Cannot be on full departmental assistantship
- Availability on weekdays, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
- Occasional weekend commitments may be required. Advanced notice of schedule will be provided.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfort with public speaking
- Ability to answer questions about the university, student life, funding, campus resources, and the graduate admissions process in a professional, positive manner
