Upcoming Fulbright Information Session

Dear Undergraduate Students,

I wanted to make sure that you knew about the Fulbright US Student Program that you can apply for this fall if you are graduating in 2022.

To learn more about the Fulbright US Student Program, please attend the upcoming presentation on May 3 at 1 - 2:30 pm CDT. The link to register is copied here: https://apply.iie.org/register/5.3General. Registrants will receive an automated email containing the virtual session link.

This is a group presentation by the Institute of International Education (IIE) staff and also by UNL’s Fulbright Program Advisor about UNL’s specific Fulbright process.

Fulbright awards support graduate study, research, or English teaching abroad. Grants are awarded to graduating seniors and alums in all academic fields and in the creative and performing arts. This is a perfect opportunity before graduate or professional school. It is never too soon to explore the Fulbright website and meet with me about this extraordinary international exchange program.

Applicants must hold a B.A. degree or the equivalent before the beginning date of the grant. Fulbright grants provide round-trip airfare, language or orientation courses (where appropriate), tuition (in some cases), book and research allowances, maintenance for the academic year, supplemental health and accident insurance, and, in some cases, funds for spousal support.

In order to be the most competitive for the Fulbright, students should have “internationalized” their education at UNL by doing some of the following: studying abroad, taking and committing to a high level of proficiency in a foreign language, working with international students on campus, or teaching English to immigrants and refugees in the community.

If you are interested in applying for the Fulbright, please attend this event on May 3.

Sincerely,
Dr. Laura Damuth (fellowships@unl.edu)
Director of National & International Fellowships at UNL
