GEOL 415/815: Geochemical Thermodynamics for Fall 2021

Hi Geology Majors,

I hope your spring semesters are all wrapping up well! I wanted to give you all a heads up that I plan to teach GEOL 415/815: Geochemical Thermodynamics this fall. This is a 3-hour lecture class (no lab) exploring the fundamentals of geochemistry. The prerequisites are petrology (GEOL 201) and at least one semester of calculus. It's a particularly great choice for anyone interested in studying more geochemistry and chemistry in the future, and for anyone doing a combination of geology and chemistry majors or minors.

Please also let me know if you want to take the class but have a scheduling conflict. I will keep a list of interested students and, if enrollment is relatively small, I will plan to reach out before the fall term about finding a time that works for as many people as possible.

Thanks, and I hope you all have a great summer!
-Dr. E.
