Towards a World-Leading University

Dear Colleagues,

As we conclude another academic year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and reflect on all of our accomplishments in these unprecedented times, I am proud to be part of an institution that continues to recognize the importance of global engagement. If anything, the current situation has demonstrated our interconnectedness and the need for global solutions to global problems.

From the tireless work of our Education Abroad and Global Strategies teams to get our students, faculty and staff home safely, to the university-wide response to support our international students unable to return home during the pandemic, Nebraska remains dedicated to supporting the entire university community. We have even found innovative ways to engage as a community, including virtual exchanges and online graduation celebrations.

Campus internationalization will look different on the other side of this pandemic, a factor we have continued to evaluate as we move forward through the ACE Internationalization Laboratory process to create our first global engagement strategy. But with the help of our global units and support from our campus and international partners, I know we have the Husker grit to propel UNL into the transformative, world-leading, 21st-century university we can be.

Sincerely,
Josh Davis
Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs &
Senior International Officer
