Fall 2020 Intern - UNL Big Red Resilience & Well-being (Lincoln, NE)

The Big Red Resilience & Well-being (BRRWB) internship is designed to give University of Nebraska--Lincoln students a semester-long professional development experience. Big Red Resilience & Well-being is committed to offering students experience working in a team, developing transferrable skills, and implementing innovative ideas. Internship experiences will be tailored to each individual student that is selected. Each intern will be paired with a professional staff member, draft a professional development plan, and work autonomously to complete projects. Interns will meet weekly with the intern team, connect regularly with their supervisor for guidance and support, and utilize Big Red Resilience & Well-being services to increase their knowledge of services and enhance their personal well-being.

Responsibilities will vary based on project type, and projects will be classified as the following:

Marketing – Assist BRRWB with promoting events, sharing well-being tips, and communicate with UNL students about campus resources. Assist with the development and implementation of a semester-long social media plan to utilize Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to engage students and increase followership. Create and distribute a monthly newsletter on MailChimp.

Special Events – Help with the planning, implementation, and assessment of key events including R U OK? Day, Recess, Fresh Check Day, and Gratitude Graffiti. Engage campus partners and relevant RSOs in partnerships. Creative thinking will be necessary during the Fall 2020 semester to engage students safely in person and in the virtual environment.

Huskers Bounce Back – Work with staff from BRRWB to continue building a resilience campaign, where students recognize that failure can lead to growth. Identify stories of resilience in our campus community and turn those into a meaningful campaign, including video creation.

Around the Kitchen Table – Plan, advertise, lead, and assess weekly events in the kitchen that focus on physical well-being in the kitchen. Collaborate with relevant partners, including Husker Pantry, Campus Recreation, the University Health Center, and Campus Dining, to support healthy eating on campus.
