KOLN/KGIN-TV is accepting applications for a full-time Evening News Prodcuer in the Lincoln News Department. You will be the primary driver of the market’s dominant 6 and 10pm newscasts, finding and producing compelling, important stories that drive viewership. This position involves mature news judgment along with high levels of creativity, communication, language skills and professionalism.
Duties include, but are not limited to: be the primary content driver for our 6pm and 10pm newscasts. Select compelling content, while engaging stories, edit video, and produce graphics to showcase your content. Communicate with directors, anchors, and reporters for the booth. Meet daily deadlines. Respond urgently and appropriately to breaking and developing news. Assist with posting content to our app, website, and social media as needed. Work evening hours.
Qualifications include: media-related bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in journalism, or related or equivalent professional experience. Familiarity with INews, Avid, TVU, Clickability, social media a plus. Exceptional writing ability and news judgement. Must maintain a permanent residence within 30 minutes of station and meet physical requirements of the position. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. A valid driver's license is required.
