CoJMC is accepting applications for sophomore, junior and senior Peer Mentors for the First-Year Experience course (JOMC 100) for the Fall 2021 semester!

As a mentor, you will:
> assist first-year CoJMC students with acclimating to college through a variety of activities
> be willing to share your experiences, both challenges and accomplishments, as a first-year UNL student
> provide guidance and one-on-one support to each of your mentees throughout their first semester
> be available for in-class and out-of-classroom questions from your mentees
> demonstrate positive and mature behavior on and off campus as a role model for your mentees and a representative of UNL and the CoJMC

Must be a CoJMC major. Students who have taken JOMC 100 are preferred, but not required. Current first-year students who will be of sophomore standing next fall are encouraged to apply. December 2021 graduates are also eligible for this opportunity.

*NOTE: Previous mentors must reapply.

Students who successfully complete the mentor program will be awarded a $500 scholarship that will be applied to their Spring 2022 student bill. (If you are a December 2021 grad, your scholarship can be applied to the fall semester.)

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY 11:59PM SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2021. Selected applicants will be interviewed in early March. Contact Bridgett Grant at bgrant2@unl.edu with questions.
