Peer Specialists - UNL Husker Hub (Lincoln, NE)

Husker Hub is looking to hire some new Peer Specialists to add to the team! We’re looking for current or Summer/Fall 2021 incoming students.

Working in Husker Hub is an incredible opportunity for students to learn and grow. Peer Specialists develop excellent habits and transferable skills that will help them in their careers, including communications, ability to work as part of a team, problem-solving, work ethic, initiative, and interpersonal skills as well as individual and civic responsibility through leadership, flexibility and adaptability, and appreciation of other cultures and engagement with diverse teammates and students. Peer Specialists become knowledgeable about and a part of helping integrated services across campus, including scholarships, financial aid, student accounts, registration and degree planning, grades and transcripts, academic policies and deadlines, and other types of students records and campus processes.

Peer Specialist Daily Duties:
> Assist students with their questions about class registration, transcripts, student bills, FAFSA, scholarships, grants, student loans, and work study
> Answer inbound calls, respond to emails, and answer student questions at front desk of Husker Hub
> Provide seasonal information to parents and students
> Check in visiting students and families at front desk
> Individual projects as assigned

Peer Specialist Qualifications:
> Federal Work Study eligibility preferred
> Must be a current or incoming UNL student
> Strong verbal and written communication skills
> Desire to help people
> Prior customer service experience in a fast-paced environment preferred

Peer Specialist Hours:
> Students should have availability to work at least 15-20 hours per week.
> Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45am-5:15pm
