NET News seeks a student worker for a position focused on radio news and digital news journalism. The successful candidate will produce news stories to air on NET Radio and possibly be featured on the NET News website and social media channels. The student could be asked to pitch, interview, produce and write these stories. Students ideally will be a junior or senior in good academic standing and have completed at least two journalism courses. They will be expected to stay abreast of current events and to follow NET News content on radio, television, online and social media.
One paid position is available for the summer of 2021 beginning in late May or early June. Students will work with NET News reporters and producers and receive instruction on best practices and hands-on training on producing stories for multiple platforms. Students may be asked to work flexible hours. Students must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
