Job Summary/Description:
The select candidate will be part of our main leadership team at Local4. The role includes co-anchor and producer on our Weekday Evening newscasts, producing newscasts, reporting, writing, planning, story generation and digital coverage on our web site and social media platforms. Where needed and on assignment, the role will also include covering news in the field by shooting, writing, and editing stories. The person we’re looking for is a calm and clear communicator capable of reporting in studio and live in the field.

We also want a professional who leads by example, representing Local4 in the community and modeling a professional approach to the rest of staff in areas ranging from operating equipment properly to encouraging team members in a positive and constructive way. In addition, we need a person who can establish a growing and loyal following on social media to enhance our brand on digital platforms
Qualifications/Requirements:
We need a person with a passion for learning about our community and our audience and to authentically demonstrate that passion on the air, on-line and especially in person. Our audience embraces our talent because we show them that we care.
Other qualifications: On-air experience in a professional news station. A college degree or equivalent job experience in a journalism related field, leadership skill, exceptional news judgment and professional knowledge of news operations. The ability to communicate live on-screen in a professional manner, for all of our media channels. Above average skill for typing/operating newsroom computers and other news gathering equipment. Excellent people skills with co-workers and the public. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Position would require permanent residence in Hastings or Grand Island, Nebraska.
