Nebraska Public Media is looking for a professional to assist with production editing, color correcting, and creating special effects while ensuring technical standards are met. Author DVDs and create files for external clients. Shoot single camera video productions and operate both studio and remote cameras, and TriCaster, during productions. Assist in setting up, shooting, and striking of production. Work is performed under the limited guidance of other editors and supervisors.
Associate’s degree in Broadcasting or related field plus one year experience in editing, DVD authoring, multi-camera studio, remote, and/or single camera EFP shooting; equivalent education/experience considered.
Working knowledge of a cross-section of production tools including television cameras, recorders, editing systems, lighting, and audio equipment is necessary. Knowledge of multiple video formats and a range of production techniques from very simple to moderately complex is essential. Must demonstrate the ability to determine proper video color balance and the ability to position a camera and compose and shoot technically and aesthetically pleasing pictures. Must also demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate may have a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting or a related field. Editing experience using Avid Media Composer and Adobe software experience with Photoshop, After Effects, Media Encoder, Premiere, and Encore software is desired. Experience with TriCaster production system and color correction skills are beneficial.
