Communications Student Worker - Rural Prosperity Nebraska (Lincoln, NE/East Campus)

Rural Prosperity Nebraska (RPN) seeks a communications student worker to assist the communications specialist for a minimum of 20 hours a week. The student worker selected for this position will have the ability to put his or her talents to use through creating and managing social media campaigns, which may include writing, video production, photo editing, graphic design, or a combination thereof.

Essential Duties:
> Develop and schedule content for RPN’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook channels
> Plan, prepare and implement social media campaigns to increase engagement from internal and external audiences
> Schedule and manage social media contests, including ordering and delivering prizes to contest winners
> Assist with gathering, formatting and posting RPN student spotlights to social media channels
> Assist with reaching out to Extension educators and scheduling interviews about current projects, research and scholarship
> Other duties as assigned

Provided the student worker is able to complete the tasks mentioned above, they would also have the freedom to write news releases, design social media graphics, create videos or work with the media specialist and communications specialist to develop other projects to help build their skills and resume while also helping tell the story of RPN.

Requirements:
Must have access to a computer and internet. Basic knowledge of Photoshop and Canva a bonus, but not required. Must be able to work independently.
