The digital content manager is responsible for creating fresh, inspiring web and email content for the Arbor Day Foundation. This person writes stirring copy, helps find engaging imagery to support it, and analyzes the pages and emails we create to gauge their effectiveness.
The digital content manager develops and maintains the voice of the Foundation's online presence. In addition to writing, editing, and proofing site content, he or she also works closely with web designers and developers to maintain site standards and communicate them as he or she works closely with our many internal clients.
The digital content manager gathers fresh, inspirational content and figures out where to put it. He or she organizes and tracks thousands of web pages and helps us decide what to prune and what to add. He or she works with the web director to get our great content discovered by our users.

Essential Duties
The digital content manager:
• Writes and edits web pages.
• Crafts site promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns.
• Creates, develops, and manages content for the Foundation's web presence.
• Maintains a consistent voice throughout all web properties.
• Works with managers and content owners throughout the Foundation to mine for inspiring stories and promote them on web pages and through email and social media.
• Helps guide the web user experience by determining where new and existing content best fits among our web properties, pruning and moving content to maintain proper flow, consistent messaging, and a positive user experience.
• Analyzes the metrics of our web properties to help content owners throughout the Foundation determine what works and what needs to change in regard to our marketing efforts.
• Provides marketing counsel to our clients, helping them determine what content is important and what should be left behind.
